About Us

Dance Away Promotions specialise in quality dance holidays with events abroad and the UK.  The partnership of Kate Sala and Sharon Tilki has successfully been organising line dance holidays now for nearly 10 years.  Their first holiday saw 120 dancers join them in Turkey and since then their holidays have gone from strength to strength with many dancers returning year after year.

They pride themselves in personally selecting venues abroad with fabulous facilities, having a professional DJ for social dancing and working with the top live acts and many award winning instructors and choreographers.  They have an amazing rapport with their dancers and with Kate’s unwavering energy on the dance floor and Sharon’s organisational skills they make a formidable partnership.

The main aim is to bring the dancer a good balance between dance time, relaxation and enjoying the local surroundings so you can choose to join in workshops or relax by the pool, enjoy an evening out, day trips etc so the holidays are also perfect for non-dancing partners and friends.  Your holiday your way!  So if you want to dance 7 nights or take a night off, it is your choice.

Kate’s Biography

Kate SalaKate was born in Nottingham, England and when she was just 2 her family moved to beautiful Lake Como in Italy from where she has loads of nice memories.  At the age of 5, back she came to the UK, returning to Nottingham!  Dance has always been an important part of her life. Kate started dance at the age of 5. Learning ballet, modern, tap and character dancing which she continued for 7 years, then progressed onto jazz, hip-hop and eventually line dancing. After school she attended college studying Art & Design for 2 years and working in Hotels, Gyms, bakeries, clothes shops & restaurants in and around Nottingham in order to pay for her living!! and she still found time after midnight to dance the night away at the local night clubs! ! She also trained as an aerobic fitness Instructor and began teaching in Gymnasiums so when she began Line dancing as a hobby the local instructor asked if she would like to teach it too. Of course the answer was yes. Kate then studied with the BWDA for her qualifications. When all the training was finished she actually became a regional teacher trainer for the B.W.D.A.  Her great enthusiasm and social attendance in Line Dancing lead her to where she is today! Prior to this Kate was running her own cafe/coffee shop and then an Italian restaurant with her brother while teaching Line dancing in her spare time. Her popularity in line dancing started almost immediately as clubs began to book her as an Instructor for their events which lead her to creating her own choreographies, then soon followed her now large popularity within the industry, putting her work in high demand.  She is constantly booked as a choreographer, instructor and personality around the world.

From an early age, Kate was performing in theatres, touring and dancing in shows throughout Europe.  In 1999 she started competing in line dance competitions, winning first place with Universal Cup and eventually progressing to world championship level with the U C W D C.
